Manga Top 10 in Japan

I have to admit that I´m not a big manga fan. I like reading some of manga such as Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka, Monster by Naoki Urasawa or Doubutsu no Oisha san (Animal Doctor) by Noriko Sasaki, and they were my obsession for a while. But usually I don´t get really excited about manga.

Most of the anime I´ve seen recently were from my foreign friends who are into Japanese pop culture. A friend, Mr.T has always some new anime to tell me. His mission in the last year was to convert me into a Otaku and lent me many anime he had found and Otakky series such as Dr.Who. He´s now convinced he has achieved it but I´m not sure about that.

An article, Manga Top 20 chosen by Japanese people was appeared in a magazine Davinci. Top 20, hm, I think it´s more like 20 up coming mangas.

These are manga that Japanese people think they are interesting. I was checking them as I didn´t know most of them and some caught my attention, I might read them.

Here I put Top 10 of those 20 mangas they´ve chosen.

No.1 Hoozuki no Reitetsu (鬼灯（ほおずき）の冷徹) Story : The main character, Hoozuki is a deputy of Yama; judge of the afterlife and a super "S". This is a daily life of Hoozuki and his people.
No.2 Gin no Saji (銀の匙) Story : A boy started a new life in an agricultural high school without any aim but through the country life, he´s growing with his school mates. Sounds a little majime (serious)?
No.3 Tonari no Seki kun (となりの関くん) Story : A normal school boy, Seki kun is always playing during the class and he changes his desk as if it´s a play room; domino, origami, shougi. A super majime girl Yokoi san is just amazed by him every day. It seems like many guys are attracted by Yokoi san´s "moe" character.
No.4 *Grazeni* (グラゼニ) Story : This shows a severe side of pro baseball world. Especially their annual salary system, the life after retirement and their anxiety. But it´s not a dark manga, rather comical.
No.5 *Drifters* (ドリフターズ) Story : The main character was a samurai in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1900 and was sent to a strange world where elfs and Orks live.
No.6 Mashiro no Oto (ましろのおと) Story : Setsu is a 16 year-old shamisen player. He came to Tokyo after his grandfather who was also his master died and try to find his own sound.
No.7 Nobunaga Konzert (信長協奏曲（コンツェルト) Story : Normal high school student, Saburo had a time travel by accident and arrived at 16th century. There Saburo got to know the Shogun, Nobunaga.
No.8 Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju (昭和元禄落語心中) Story : Yotarou has just come out of the prison and what he wanted to be is a rakugo-ka (Japanese comic storyteller). He went straight to Yagumo, the great master of rakugo but he had no intention to teach anyone.
No.9 Again (アゲイン！！) Story : If you could go back to the past, what would do or would not do? Kin-ichiro has whole his high school life back. Now what will he do for not to regret his 3 years again?
No.10 Asahinagu (あさひなぐ) Story : Can an arty quiet girl be a Naginata (Japanese long sword) expert? High school girls´ sports drama.
