Beethoven Meets Mambo No.5 by Akira Miyagawa

One day you may wonder what if classical music was more fun and lay back, something without so formal that´s what you need.

So for example, most of you know Beethoven, a quite famous composer who looks always grumpy in the portrait.

Typical. He is a symbol of classical music, it´s just too serious.

Then, how about Beethoven´s Symphony No.5 meets Mambo No.5? What would happen?

There is nothing really common between them apart from No.5. But surprisingly, they make beautiful harmony.

Have a listen.

Who is this composer? He is a Tokyo born Japanese coposer and pianist, Akira Miyagawa (宮川彬良). His father Hiroshi Miyagawa (宮川泰) was also a famous composer who made the song for an anime, Uchu Senkan Yamato (宇宙戦艦ヤマト/Buttle Ship Yamato).

As well as his father, Akira Miyagawa composes many songs for musicals, theatre, TV programs, anime or musicians. He is actually really sugoi (impressive) although I always thought he was a comedian somehow… He´s not a typical type of "composer" but hey, why not.

His official website is from HERE.

In his music program, Miyagawa Akira´s Showtime, he shows us the beauty of music in fun way. One of the program is "kids humming competition". Professional musicians make songs from the kids´ humming. It´s so funny and at the same time surprises you how free and creative kids are.

He´s become very famous with the song “MATSUKEN SAMBA” in 2004 which is this. What I like the most about this Japanese composer is the wiggle and mischievousness.

Don´t be serious, have a fun day!
